Privacy Policy — Kairos

This policy describes how the Kairos app (“the app”) handles your information.

Summary

Kairos does not have user accounts and does not send your personal information to the developer. Almost everything the app does happens on your device. The one exception is that, to fetch local conditions, the app sends your location to the weather, tide, and air-quality services it queries. The developer does not operate a server and does not collect, store, or sell your data.

Location

The app uses your device location to determine the conditions where you are. To get those conditions, your coordinates — and the coordinates of any places you add yourself — are sent to the third-party data providers listed below, which return the forecast, tide, and air-quality data for that location.

Your location is used only to fetch these conditions. It is not stored by the developer, is not linked to an identity, and is not used to track you or for advertising. You can deny or revoke location access in your device settings; the app’s location-dependent features will be limited without it.

Information stored on your device

The following are stored only on your device (and in your iCloud/device backup, if you have backups enabled), and are not transmitted to the developer:

• The activities and preferences you configure.
• Activities you commit to and any feedback you record about how they went.
• A history of recent scores used to judge how unusual current conditions are.

Removing the app removes this data.

Calendar

With your permission, the app reads your calendar to find free and busy times so it can suggest windows that fit your schedule, and it can add an event for an activity you choose to commit to. This happens on your device. Your calendar contents are not sent to the developer or to the data providers.

Motion and fitness

With your permission, the app reads recent motion/activity data to gauge how active you’ve been, which it uses on your device to adjust when it notifies you. This data is not transmitted off the device.

Notifications

Notifications are generated on your device. The app does not use a remote push service that would require sharing a device token with the developer.

Third-party data providers

When the app fetches conditions, it sends location coordinates to these services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Apple Weather (WeatherKit) — weather and weather alerts. See Apple’s privacy policy and WeatherKit terms.
• NOAA / NOS CO-OPS — tide predictions (U.S. government service).
• Open-Meteo — air-quality and marine/surf forecast data, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).

The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Data we do not collect

The app does not collect personal information for the developer, does not use tracking or advertising identifiers, does not show ads, and does not sell or share your data for marketing.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

This policy may be updated; material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
